Christijan Albers was unable to turn his strong qualifying performance at Zandvoort into a strong race result. The Dutchman was hit in the opening lap at Zandvoort, damaging his splitter. Without his splitter Albers suffered from a lack of grip and was unable to keep the car on track.

In a short conversation with the team leadership of Spyker Formula I last Sunday I learned that I will no longer be active as a racedriver for the Spyker team during the 2007 season. As you know this was made public this morning.

Solid race at Silverstone

Christijan Albers has finished the British Grand Prix in 15th position. At the start of the race Albers had a good fight with Takuma Sato. For a long time he was able to keep the Japanese driver behind him.

Albers happy with qualifying result

Christijan Albers will start Sunday's race at Zandvoort from 14th position. The Dutchman managed to make it into the second qualifying session but didn't come out to complete a flying lap in the second qualifying session to spare a set of new Dunlop tyres.

Albers unhappy with P16

Christijan Albers was not amused after Saturday's qualifying session at Mugello. The Dutchman was close to Q2 but was blocked by Matthias Lauda in his final flying lap with the Austrian was on his in lap as he was finished with his qualifying run. Albers will start Sunday's race at Mugello from sixteenth position.

Unfortunate end to the weekend at Hockenheim

Christijan Albers was unable to finish Sunday´s race at Hockenheim. After a solid start from P14 Albers was able to keep up with fellow Audi driver Markus Winkelhock. In the second lap though he collided with Ralf Schumacher and was unable to continue his race.

Albers well on the pace at Oschersleben

Christijan Albers finished Sunday's race at Oschersleben in sixteenth position. The Dutchman was well on the pace at the German track fighting for positions with Ralf Schumacher. In lap twelve though he was pushed off track by Oliver Jarvis. Jarvis received a drive through penalty for his silly move but Albers had to continue his race with a broken suspension. Nonetheless Albers managed to completed the ninth fastest lap in the race.

Christijan Albers can confirm he will receive the support of the Beelen Group, market leader in the Netherlands in the field of demolition, renovation demolition and all related activities. Beelen’s logo will appear on Christijan Albers’ outfit and helmet during the 2008 DTM season.

Christijan Albers showed a promising performance in front of his home crowd at Zandvoort. In both Friday's two 90-minute free practice sessions the Dutchman ended eighth. The free practice sessions were without any technical problems.

Christijan Albers has qualified himself in fourteenth position for Sunday's race at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz. The Dutchman managed it once again to make it into the second qualifying round, ahead of his competitors such as Gary Paffett and Maro Engel.

Impressive qualifying result at Hockenheim

Christijan Albers' first DTM qualifying session for the Futurecom TME team impressed the German fans at Hockenheim. The Dutchman, racing the 2006 Audi A4, qualified himself for Sunday's race in 14th position. An impressive result for the 28-year-old.

Albers: Damage car hindered my race

For Christijan Albers a promising weekend at the EuroSpeedway came to a disappointing end. The Futurecom-TME driver finished Sunday's race in fifteenth with a damaged Audi. In the opening laps Albers had to deal with several blocks from other drivers who crashed into the Dutchman.

Christijan Albers is currently preparing himself for the upcoming race season. At the moment he is negotiating with various teams and in the meantime he busies himself in the gym to be fully fit for the upcoming season.

Technical problems hinder Albers

What are your impressions of Magny-Cours, where the French Grand Prix is held?
Some drivers don’t like it, but I actually find it a very good circuit. The track layout is good, you have to have a good downforce balance for the high speed and low speed corners, so set-up is always a compromise. There are a few possibilities to overtake so you also have to have a good speed to be able to pass on the straight. I like the track though - the only problem I can see with it is it’s in the middle of nowhere!

Strategy fails to pay off

Christijan Albers was completing steady improvements in the first session, but in the opening minutes of the second practice the Dutchman ran over the kerbs on the exit to turn 12 and badly damaged his F8-VII’s chassis. Short day of testing for Christijan Albers

With a different circuit configuration in use today at the Circuit de Castellet Paul Ricard, the Etihad Aldar Spyker Formula One Team’s focus switched to preparation for the Canadian Grand Prix. Christijan Albers was only able to put in just 16 laps before a minor mechanical problem curtailed the day’s running.

Malaysia was a difficult weekend for both Spyker drivers as they tried to make up for the lack of testing at Sepang from which all their rivals had benefited. Added to that the team had a lot of work to do to hone the new aero package, which was running on track for the first time.

Christijan Albers has began his first day in Monaco not without any problems. Albers completed only five laps in the morning practice after an engine failure in the first half an hour of the session brought an end to his running. Following an engine change between sessions, Christijan was however able to complete 35 laps in the later practice with a best time of 1:18.820.

The Malaysian Grand Prix came to an early finish on Sunday. Christijan Albers, who had to start from 20th position at the grid this afternoon, had a great start and survived the fights in the first corner.

Things can only get better in Bahrain

On Tuesday Christijan Albers returned from an intense week of training at the Spanish Island of Mallorca. The Dutch Formula 1 driver travelled to Mallorca for a couple of days training with the team. There wasn’t a lot of time to relax!

The Spyker F1 team today announced that Adrian Sutil will partner Christijan Albers in the 2007 FIA F1 World Championship after signing a long term contract today with the team.

Reasonable end of the season

The Brazilian Grand Prix went better than expected for Albers. He was able to slowly move up the field and fight with a number of drivers for position. In the end Albers was unable to score a point though unfortunately.

Strong start for Albers

The start of the final round in the 2006 championship went well for Albers. The Spyker MF1 driver didn’t cover a lot of laps at Interlagos to save his sets of tyres and engine. He was also visited by his latest sponsor Leaseplan at the Brazilian track.

Albers busy with Bridgestone at Silverstone

On Thursday Christijan Albers joined Spyker MF1 at Silverstone for a day of testing. The main focus was on testing the Bridgestone compounds for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Albers' race finished early

Christijan Albers felt strange vibrations in the cockpit of his Spyker MF1 car until eventually his driveshaft failed in dramatic fashion on lap 21. The rear right wheel sheered off and took with it his rear wing as he braked for the final chicane.

Strong qualifying in Suzuka

Spyker MF1 driver Christijan Albers qualified himself in sixteenth position for Sunday’s Japanese Grand Prix. Christijan Albers drove an excellent lap in the first session to post faster times than both Red Bulls and one of the Toro Rosso cars. Relying on used tyres Albers survived the first knockout for the fifth time this season.

Strong start at Suzuka

Christijan Albers began his Japanese Grand Prix weekend well. The Spyker MF1 Racing driver set his fastest time in Friday’s second free practice session at 1.36.180. It was the 16th fastest time of the day.

Spyker MF1 Team , a 100% subsidiary of Spyker Cars N.V., is proud to announce it has agreed an engine supply agreement with Ferrari.

Tough day for Albers

Christijan Albers didn't have an easy day during the first free sessions of the Grand Prix of China. The Dutchman, who unveiled that he will stay at Spyker MF1 next season, spent most of the day trying to find the right car set-up for the Shanghai circuit.

Following one day of intensive testing at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza last week, Midland driver Christijan Albers returns to the fastest circuit of them all for Round 15 of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, the Italian Grand Prix.

Christijan completes test at Monza

On Wednesday Christijan Albers joined the MF1 Racing team at Autodromo di Monza, Italy, for the team’s three-day test in preparation of the Italian Grand Prix.

Great race but no finish in Turkey

Christijan Albers drove a fantastic race in Turkey but unfortunately he was unable to finish the race. Albers had to start the race from 22nd position and worked his way up the field to run as high as 9th position at one point - just a few seconds away from 6th - only to crash into a barrier with 11 laps remaining.

Strong qualifying in Istanbul

Christijan Albers adopted a very aggressive set-up to set Midland's fastest lap time of the weekend by more than one second on his way to entering the second qualifying session. Had he not been assessed a ten-position engine-change penalty, his time would have enabled him to start tomorrow's race from 16th position, instead of from the back of the grid.

He commented about today’s work: “Today was much better. We made a lot of progress since yesterday, which was a bad day for both Midland and Toyota, and I think we did a fantastic job of making the most of our time on the track today. So many thanks to the team and Toyota for their efforts, and let's push hard to do a good result tomorrow.”

Another engine change for Albers

For Christijan Albers the weekend started just like in the previous two Grand Prix weekends. His Toyota engine left him in the dark and blew up. It means that Christijan Albers will face a ten places grid penalty once again for changing his engine.

Both Midlands disqualified at Hockenheim

Both Midland F1 cars of Christijan Albers and Tiago Monteiro were disqualified from the German Grand Prix after post-race scrutineering ruled that the cars had illegally flexible rear wings. In a statement stewards said that an inspection of the cars' lower rear wing element showed 'excess flexibility'.

Albers shows his strength in German Grand Prix

In an exciting race Christijan Albers showed his true racing spirit. Albers had to start the race from twenty first position, but managed to finish in thirteenth in an exciting Grand Prix.

Hockenheim remains difficult

It remained a difficult weekend for Christijan Albers at Hockenheim. The problems continued on Saturday morning when Albers suffered from an electronical problem and was thus unable to complete the number of laps he wanted.

The start of Christijan’s German Grand Prix weekend couldn’t have started any worse than this. In Friday’s first practice session Albers blew up his Toyota engine and had to switch it for a brand new one.

Today was the final day of testing for the MF1 Racing team at Jerez.

under extremely hot circumstances.

Competitive performance in France

Christijan Albers delivered his and MF1 Racing's most competitive performance of the season at the French Grand Prix today. Despite encountering transmission problems on his first pit stop, Albers maintained strong pace to bring home his M16 in 15th position.

Albers satisfied with qualifying run
